Leaving the Badlands

On our way out of the Badlands we saw this mountain goat.

When we entered the Badlands we left I90 at exit 170 and came out to I90 at exit 110...and we were in Wall, SD. Along I90 we had been seeing billboards for Wall Drug since we got in SD (more than 300 miles). We
figured this would be as good a place
to stay as any, so we pulled into Arrow Campground and we paid $23.00 a night for nothing special at all.
Wall, SD is known for one thing and one thing only..Wall Drug Store which is so much more than a drug store--it's an art gallery, cafe, bookstore, shoe store, jewelry store, fudgery, pharmacy, and donut maker (yummy).
We left the next morning, heading for Rapid City where we chose to stay at the Heartland RV Park in Hermosa, SD. It was about 16 miles south of Rapid City and not so far from Mt. Rushmore, Custer SP, and more.
A few statistics on our trip: the Heartland RV park will be our 10th campground in 13 days. We have spent $426 on gas and saved $202 from our Passport America membership. I am not keeping track of mileage but I know we are well over 1,200 miles away now.
More on our stay near Rapid City...next post.
