Big Horn Mts.

5-07-09

Today was a day where the driving just wasn't agreeing with us. Randy was really tired of driving and I was no help with relief, so we decided to just stop for the night. We found a campground in Gillette, WY--it was called "Crazy Women CG" (how appropriate)...we pulled in and hooked up, but the campground was a dump, so we changed our mind and we were out of there...which sadly meant we had to drive another hour to get to another cg, but we were more than ready to do that just to get away from that "Crazy" CG. So we ended up in Buffalo, WY at a CG called Deer Park...much better.

When we left Buffalo, we had to drive over and through the Big Horn Mts. and this is what we experienced. We went from this

blue skies and calm weather

to this

when we reached the top of the mountain.

And this is what we had to drive through...

SCARY stuff. Thank goodness, nobody drove up behind us because for a few moments we were stopped in the middle of the street at the top of this mountain with nowhere to go.
It took us 1 1/2 hours to go 20 miles over the Big Horn Mts.
