Des Moines, IA

This is our campground at Cutty's Campground in Des Moines, IA.

Finally, we are seeing blue skies again. We needed more of a break, so we stayed 2 nights here instead of 1. This is our 7th campground in 8 days.

On our second day, we decided to take in a movie...mostly because I have been waiting for 5 months for The Soloist to come out and I really wanted to see it. It was really good. I love Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx was fabulous in his role too.

Farms and more farms

Passing farm after farm after farm in IL & IA.
Still have storm clouds...starting to wonder about ever getting to S. Dakota. Driving seems endless...roads seem endless. Jesse knows better than to say "are we there yet?"

More Farmland

Here are more farms that dot the horizon. Sometimes you can do a 180 degree pan of the landscape and not see a house...a walmart...a nothing but land and more land. Occasionally, a cow or two. I don't think I am cut out to be a farmer's wife...doesn't she have to do just as much work as he does to keep that farm running...I mean aren't there endless chores? Certainly, not my cup of tea. If I had to cook 3 meals a day...everyday...I would lose my mind. Anybody with me on that? Still, the land is beautiful, isn't it?

Landscapes in IN/IL/IA

Still being pursued by storm clouds and ugly weather, I manage to get these awesome photos of the landscape and what we are seeing out our windows.

Indiana

We had ominous storm clouds following us through Indiana--which made for great photos.

We stopped at Amish Acres in Nappanee, IN

where we ran into these gorgeous fellows--

and I enjoyed seeing the handmade quilts on the beds.

Ohio

I endured (not entirely under duress) going to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH---so that I could see this on a beautiful drive through Amish country.

Where I also purchased the best Baby Swiss Cheese I have ever had at Guggisberg Cheese in Millersburg, OH.

Pittsburgh PA

We love Pittsburgh Home of the Steelers, thanks to Jesse. Here is our view from Mountain Top Campground just outside of Pittsburgh.

And here is one happy teenage Steelers fan in Steelers Country!

Here we are trying the famous Primanti Brothers sandwich. The sandwich includes your choice of meat on thick slabs of italian bread and comes loades with coleslaw, french fries, and tomatoes.

And finally here is Jesse looking like he has won the lottery in the Steelers locker room in front of Santonio Holmes' jersey and helmet.

It is was hotter than hades in Pittsburgh while we were there, but we had a great time and it was worth it to see that cheshire cat grin on Jesse's face the whole time!
